Crane Repair - Monorail Tractor Drive Replacement
Problem: Customer called with a locked-up hand geared chain trolley that was locked up from years of concrete dust.
Solution: Drop the existing hoist down from the east/west monorail where it had a chain trolley that was no longer functioning. It was lowered through the scaffold floor, relocated 10 feet and lifted back up through another scaffold floor onto a different monorail. We then installed new Saturn Tractor Drive, new pendant, and a turret cord reel.
End Result: The customer no longer had to yank on the lower block and work the hand chain at the same time. That was causing the power rail electrification to trip the breaker. Everything is now installed and working as intended with a powered trolley motion and managed electrification.
